Cloud4 partners with Acronis for disaster recovery

Cloud4 Computers has partnered with Acronis, the industry leading backup and disaster recovery software specialist. Cloud4 will be working with Acronis on the launch of its brand new Hosted Disaster Recovery server solution that aims to meet an ever increasing demand for offsite disaster recovery for UK businesses. The solution is aimed at providing a complete failover facility in the data centre for a business’s onsite servers.
Cloud4 Managing Director Phil Donoghue said “an adequate disaster recovery plan is an essential part of planning for business continuity and data protection. More focus than ever is on this now as regulatory bodies such as the Data Protection Agency, and many business insurers are stepping in to make sure adequate steps are taken by organisations, to protect information and maintain services in the event of an IT disaster. We looked at the marketplace and decided to use our data centre platform to develop a product that meets these requirements, cost effectively. So for us Acronis was the natural choice of backup software vendor to work with to develop the solution”.
After successfully testing the service in a live environment, Cloud4 plan to launch the new solution to their clients and reseller partners in April 2011. The service is aimed at providing the right solution, cheaper than the current market leading solution which can cost as much as a £10,000 setup and maintenance cost. Phil said “our DR Service is aimed at providing a market leading blend of functionality Vs value, which will allow smaller businesses to take advantage, not just the enterprise and corporate level clients”.
