Having your business hooked up to a dedicated fibre optic connection eliminates all of the usual factors that leave you guessing about broadband speeds and service (you’ve heard these things before – distance from the exchange, contention rates, quality of the copper). Simply put – none of that matters.

You choose the speed you want (10Mbps, 20Mbps, 30Mbps, 50Mbps and 100Mbps) and that is the speed you get.

No variable factors.

No 'up to' claims.

Just the speed you need, when you need it.
Opting for fibre to the Premises at your business Premises gives you a dedicated superfast connection to the internet.

Fibre to the Premises is a dedicated fibre optic internet connection, with speeds of up to 100Mbps, direct to your business Premises. Delivered from the exchange, directly into your business Premises, fibre to the Premises provides a superfast business-grade internet connection, giving you the speeds your operations require when you need.

Fibre to the Premises delivers fibre straight through from the exchange to your business premises. This means that the distance from the exchange is not a problem. Your data travels at the speed of light on a dedicated fibre optic circuit, so there is no opportunity to lose speed through distance from the exchange.

EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) provides high speed, reliable internet connectivity and is ideal for businesses who have outgrown ADSL broadband, but where fibre optic services are too expensive or unavailable. EFM will deliver speeds of up to 20Mbps with a minimum guaranteed speed.

  • Highly reliable - multiple wires which are proactively monitored
  • Symmetrical - the same speed both up and down
  • Fast - Up to 20Mbps with minimum guaranteed speed
Like ADSL, the speed an EFM circuit will run at will depend on your distance from the exchange. However, with EFM we can guarantee the minimum speed you will receive. In our trials, we found that most customers receive a faster speed service than we can guarantee.

EFM is also a symmetrical service – meaning that both the upload and the download speed are the same. This is great if you are making Internet Telephony calls, using video, or sending / uploading large files to the internet.
EFM uses multiple copper pairs to deliver the service. These are bonded together to provide a combined service. By combining pairs you will receive a much more reliable service because if there is a fault with a single wire then the service will just slow down, rather than taking your business off line. In addition, if there is a copper wire fault in the BT Openreach network, EFM is provided with “Service Level 4” which aims to have an engineer resolve the fault within 6 hours.
To order EFM, you will need to contact our sales team. Orders are subject to survey and take between 25 to 90 days to be delivered. EFM is available in 1500 of the most popular UK telephone exchanges and you can be upto approximately 4km from the exchange.

To use EFM, BT Openreach will install a number of analogue copper pairs and associated wall sockets. In addition an EFM network adaptor will be installed, which provides you with an Ethernet socket. You will need to have a spare power socket available within 1M of the BT sockets.
It is not possible to upgrade from 2 Pair EFM to 4 Pair EFM or vice versa. Should you wish to upgrade in the future, you would have to cease your line and reinstall.

We can allow some overlap of the circuits to ensure that you do not lose connectivity in these circumstances, but this may be limited to the number of pairs available as exchange capacity may have changed from the time the original order was placed to the time you wish to upgrade.

Wireless Leased Lines at Cloud4

More and more business and other organisations are moving to wireless leased lines for their connectivity services and when you look at how it stacks up against other dedicated, uncontended services such as EFM and Fibreline it’s easy to see why!
No matter where you purchase your EFM or fibreline connectivity, it ultimately relies on BT or Virgin’s network and exchanges, with all of the complexities of supporting it. In addition because services provided particularly over BT’s network rely on Openreach to perform surveys and installations and typical lead teams for an EFM installation of 45-50 days and 75-90 days for fibreline.

With a wireless leased line the lead time is typically 5-10 days for installation!
When you order your fibreline circuit you are usually given a price for installation, typically for a 3 year contract this is free, however in many cases this will be revised beyond the pre installation survey and extra construction costs added which can sometimes be thousands of pounds, to cover the costs of Openreach getting the fibre into your building or location.

With a wireless leased line there are no extra construction costs, So the price we quote you for Installation is the price you pay!
As you’re not reliant on a limited 100Mbps bearer as with fibreline, or the distance from the local exchange as with EFM, we can deliver a broad range of bandwidth options from 2Mbps to a massive 2Gbps, and your bandwidth can even be scaled up and down as required to support busy periods.
Unlike fixed line services it’s simple to pick up and move your wireless leased line when you move offices (provided the services is available at the new location) cost effectively without having to wait another 75 days and pay extra construction costs for moving a fixed line service.
With lower installation costs, adjustable bandwidth and pricing form only £250 per month for your dedicated wireless leased line, all installed in typically 5-10 days, it’s easy to see why the world is going wireless.

Priority 1 (Loss of Service)
  • Individual LLU End User with full loss of service or no outbound service or ability to dial 999

  • DOA end user has been migrated onto the TalkTalk Business Network and the service has never worked within first 8 days

  • Data: Total loss of Sync/Connection to our network
Priority 2 (Partial loss of Service)
  • LLU End User experiencing partial loss of service, eg Inbound only, outbound only or crossed lines

  • Data: Intermittent or unstable connection

All you need to do is contact your existing broadband provider’s customer service and obtain your Migration Authorisation Code (known as a MAC key). Then, you simply place your order online and enter your MAC key when prompted.

Not all MAC keys are compatible with Cloud4 broadband. The MAC codes that are compatible should be in the following formats:

4 letters, 7 digits, forward slash, 2 letters, 2 digits, 1 letter. For example, LLLN0189907/DF34L

Or

4 letters, 7 or 8 or 9 digits, forward slash, 2 letters, 2 digits, 1 letter (example BBIP1757713/DJ29K or FTIP01753715/BD19J or FTIP012345678/BD23J).

It’s a good idea to check your current contract, as some providers charge their customers for moving to another provider before a specified date. Once we have your MAC key and your completed order we can start moving you over to Cloud4. The entire process will take around two weeks. During the changeover you will briefly lose your broadband connection, but we’ll ensure that it’s up and running in as short a time as possible.
In the event of a possible system problem please let us know by contacting us
If any changes to your telephony service are made (i.e. you upgrade from a residential to a business service, or the line stops for any maintenance whilst a broadband order or service is on the line) the broadband order or service will be automatically cancelled.

This service will then need to be re-ordered/provided at the usual 7-10 days.

If you are planning any changes it is advisable to check with Cloud4 support to see how the changes will affect your broadband service.
For our packages, there is an initial 3 month contract, after which we require 30 days notice in writing to cancel your contract.

If you are cancelling within the intial 3 month contract you will incur a cancellation charge of £50 + VAT.
That’s easy, just get in it touch with us and we’ll discuss your requirements and provide you with a 7 day trial for the most suitable service for your needs. You can call our pre-sales team on 0845 862 0263 (option 1), email sales@cloud4computers.co.uk or use LiveChat to talk to us today.
Customers on our LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) network have experienced speeds of up to 16Mbps. The actual speed that you will receive is based on three factors: the length of the wire that connects your premises with the BT exchange, the quality of the copper, and signal interference from other users or devices.

Cloud4 Business Fibre Professional Broadband and Cloud4 Business Fibre Priority Broadband customers will receive an uncontended asymmetrical subject to line capability.
We support both PCs and Macs and any operating system that supports TCP/IP communication and has an Ethernet port, i.e. Windows, Linux, Mac.

Any PC that supports TCP/IP can be connected to our service. To use wireless network features you will normally need a wireless network adapter on your computer, most laptops have this included, if you have a desktop PC you may need to purchase additional equipment (Cloud4 does not supply Wireless networking equipment).
No.

Our service is provided over your existing BT telephone line, so if you have a serviceable BT line already, your telephone number will not need to change.
Sadly, no.

Cloud4 can only provide services over an active BT line, as our equipment is only installed in BT exchanges.
No.

We provide all Cloud4 broadband customers with up to 16 static IP’s free of charge.
When your broadband is activated, your existing analogue telephone service will continue to work (and you can make voice calls as normal). Broadband will operate at the same time. The ‘data’ signal and the regular voice signal are carried down the same line, each operating in a different part of the ‘spectrum’ (a bit like different radio stations).

In order for the broadband signal not to interfere with your regular telephones, fax machines and answering machines, you will need a micro filter or splitter. The micro filter ‘strips out’ the high frequency data signal so that your phones receive the normal voice signal without interference.

If you purchase , or are supplied with our router , we include 2 Microfilters free of charge.
You will be notified as soon as possible if this is the case. You will not be charged if you haven’t received the service from Cloud4.
Invoices are due for payment monthly, in advance, on the anniversary of your signup date (or the closest working day if it should fall on a weekend or a bank holiday).
If the automatic payment fails we will send you a message, and attempt to take payment, three working days later. If this also fails and payment is not made within 15 days we will suspend your service and full payment will be required in order for services to resume. If payment is still not made within 30 days, we will refer your account to a debt collection agency.
Cloud4 Broadband packages include upto 16 IPs free of charge, we can allocate blocks of 32 and 64 IPs, however this is subject to an administration charge and completion of the relevant registry documentation.
Cloud4 Business Fibre Priority Plus Broadband customers are charged £110.00 per month, plus a one-off £90.00 setup fee for new installations (no charge for migration) and £43.50 for a wireless router.

Cloud4 Business Fibre Priority Broadband customers are charged £64.95 per month, plus a one-off £90.00 setup fee for new installations (no charge for migration) and £43.50 for a wireless router plus £10.00 for delivery.

Business Fibre Professional customers are charged £38.95 per month and a £90.00 setup fee. Customers who opt for a wireless router will be charged £43.50, plus £10.00 for delivery.

If customers exceed their inclusive bandwidth limit, they are charged £1 per Gigabyte.

All prices exclude VAT.
Your first bill is based upon your actual service activation date. If the actual activation date turns out to be later than communicated in your confirmation email and we have already taken payment then we will credit your account accordingly.

We've been with Cloud4 for 6 months now, absolutely fantastic customer service and price best around...

Cloud4 have proven to be an ideal partner for our business, providing a simple and affordable business telephony solution without the headaches normally associated with this critical service.

Cloud4 was able to identify the possibility of the new superfast fibre (FTTC) broadband at the new site. The figures also showed that connectivity itself would be up to 7 times faster there than an ADSL service.

Hosted VoIP is an ideal solution for us as it is both affordable and simple to manage, with low upfront costs and minimal onsite equipment requiring maintenance or support."
